Participation by a representative of the Data Centre in the ANSO-MAS 2026 International Conference in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
From 28 to 30 July 2026, Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia, hosted ANSO-MAS 2026: The 2nd International Conference on Environmental Hazards in Asia – Building Resilience to Future Hazards. The conference was attended by representatives from Afghanistan, Turkey, India, the United Kingdom, the Philippines, Russia, Pakistan, the United States, Japan, Nepal, Thailand, Mongolia, the United Arab Emirates, South Korea, France, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, Sri Lanka, Algeria, and Canada.
The first two days of the conference were devoted to oral presentations by participants across three sessions:
- Building resilience
- Environmental Hazards
- Earthquakes & Cities
On the third day, the following sessions took place:
- Panel session – Funding priorities.
- Breakout sessions – Ideas for proposals.
- Breakout sessions – Developing proposals.
- Closing ceremony.
A poster session was held during the conference.
Abylay Nursarsenovich Uzbekov, a senior research scientist at the Data Centre of the Institute of Geophysical Research, National Nuclear Centre of the Republic of Kazakhstan, took part in the conference, delivering an oral presentation on the topic: "Seismic monitoring and the results of its application in Kazakhstan to study seismic events of various nature".
