“Makanchi” seismic station (MAKZ) of IRIS/GSN network
MAKZ seismic station of global IRIS/GSN network is located in Urdzhar region of East-Kazakhstan area 3 km north-west of Makanchi settlement. The station is situated in the region represented by lower and upper subsuites of Karkaralinsk suite of Lower Carboniferous sediments. Upper sub-suite (C1v3skr2) is composed of andesitic porphyrites and tuffs of acid and alkaline effusives. Sediments of this suite are mainly in the north-west part of the region and compose Dzhaytobe mountain where a tunnel of “Makanchi” seismic station is situated.
Seismic sensors of the station – STS2 and accelerometer Episensor are installed in a tunnel. Recording equipment: 26-bit ADC (for seismometer) and 24-bit ADC (for accelerometer) Quanterra Q330HR is installed near the sensor. Sample rate: 40 samples/sec/channel (STS2) and 100 samples/sec/channel for accelerometer (gated mode). Seismic data are digitized according to GPS.
Response and phase characteristics of the installed seismometers are here.
