A national authority on the Comprehensive Test-Ban Treaty will be established in Kazakhstan |
The government of the Republic of Kazakhstan has prepared a draft decree “On appointment of the national authority for the Comprehensive Test-Ban Treaty”, informs Zakon.kz.
“Appoint the Ministry of Energy ща the Republic of Kazakhstan as a national authority for the Comprehensive Test-Ban Treaty”, - says the document.

The explanatory note to the document states that according to the Comprehensive Test-Ban Treaty every State Signatory is obliged not to test nuclear explosions, ban and prevent nuclear explosions at any place under its jurisdiction and control.
The overall control for the Treaty compliance is laid on the Comprehensive Test-Ban Treaty Organization that applies advanced technologies in the field of seismic, radionuclide, and infrasound control.
The verification regime is established within the Comprehensive Test-Ban Treaty and includes the International Monitoring System that conducts activities on seismological, radionuclide, hydroacoustic, and infrasound monitoring systems, on-site inspections, and safety measures.
